Spiritual Rez have released a new album called Setting In The West. The ten-song effort showcases the band’s musical diversity and relatable lyrics while maintaining the quintessential reggae vibes that they’ve come to be known for.Check out the full album stream here, and follow along with our recap of some of the album’s highlights.Setting In The West kicks off with “Sober”, a slow and plodding tune that showcases the mind of a drunk party-goer who meets the girl of his dreams. The lyrics openly wonder whether this love will last in the morning, once both parties have sobered up, showcasing a reflective attitude that permeates through the EP. “Red Room” is an uplifting tune that features typical, stress-free reggae vibes, advising the listener to “do it right you can’t rewind”. Life is short, and “Red Room” acts as the ultimate reminder to live life to the fullest and happiest. A guest verse by Duddy B of the Dirty Heads rounds things out with a spot-on guest appearance on the track.“Together Always” is a more personal love song, with vocalist Toft Willingham lamenting the stress of going on tour and leaving a jealous significant other at home. The song acts as a reassurance to the jealous lover, discussing the trials and tribulations of being in a relationship while on tour. The lyrics express the strong feelings that the protagonist has for his true love, the girl with a “golden heart” who is waiting for him at home. Vocalist HIRIE adds to the track by playing the role of the lonely girlfriend, providing harmonies and reciprocating the dedication that is on display in the song’s earlier verses.“Square Grouper” is a funky song about finding a large quantity of marijuana in the waters of Florida and profiting from this lucky discovery. For the uninitiated, a “Square Grouper” is a bale of Marijuana that has fallen overboard from a smuggling ship or thrown out of a smuggling plane (the term was coined by the US Coast Guard). In the end, the song tells a tale of wishful thinking, with Willingham singing about taking the risk to search for a “square grouper”, and the hope of becoming a rich man by selling the bounty. While the lyrics are playful, the song tells a vivid tale of desire and fantasy. In the end, this album accomplishes exactly what Spiritual Rez has set out to achieve. Setting In The West is a funky album that tells introspective tales about the search for love, peace, success, and tranquility, all while managing to make these topics fun, relatable, and danceable.
A businessman in upstate New York is facing 40 criminal counts, six months after a crash killed 20 people in a limousine that was rented from his family’s company.According to Schoharie District Attorney Susan Mallery, Nauman Hussain has been indicted on 20 counts of second-degree manslaughter as well as 20 counts of negligent homicide. He will be arraigned on Wednesday.Police describe Hussain as an “operator” for Prestige Limousine Chauffer Service, a company owned by his father, Shahed Hussain. In October of last year, the younger Hussain allegedly hired driver Scott Lisinicchia, who did have the appropriate license to drive a limo. The complaint against Nauman Hussain also alleges that the modified Ford Excursion had certain mechanical and safety issues, affecting the brakes, among other things.New York Governor Andrew Cuomo says the limo failed an inspection in September of last year, and “was not supposed to be on the road.”However, Hussain’s attorney, Lee Kindlon, says, “Mr. Hussain is not guilty of criminal wrongdoing, and we will fight for him every step of the way.” Kindlon adds that Hussain had “very little involvement” in his father’s company, handling clerical duties.Lisinicchia was driving 17 passengers to a birthday party when the limo ran a stop sign and then struck a parked SUV, according to officials.Everyone in the limo was killed, as were two pedestrians. Newlyweds and four sisters were among the victims. The National Transportation Safety Board issued its preliminary report in February. It states that the “original 137-inch-long wheelbase for the 2001 Ford Excursion had been lengthened by 180 inches to increase the seating capacity to 18 occupants (including the driver).”The report adds, “All aspects of the Schoharie, New York, crash remain under investigation as the NTSB focuses on determining the probable cause, with the intent of issuing safety recommendations to prevent similar crashes.”
The Retired National Footballers Association of Ghana (RENFAG) has expressed their displeasure over attempts by the 1963 Africa Cup Winning team, to make demands from the Ministry of Youth and Sports without their consent.A statement signed by Alhaji Ibrahim Sunday, National Chairman of RENFAG said, the recent reception organized by some private individuals for the 1963 squad to celebrate 50th anniversary since Ghana won the first ever Nations Cup, came as a surprise and shock to them.According to the statement, RENFAG which oversees the activities of all retired national players was not aware of the reception as well as claims by the group that they were promised estate houses by government when they first on the Nations Cup in 1963.The statement described the conduct of the 1963 squad, as disappointing, since RENFAG had held meetings with the Minister of Youth and Sports over the plight members of the 1963, 1965, 1978 and 1982 and had subsequently submitted a list to the ministry for the necessary action to be taken.“We were therefore unaware by the singular move by the 1963 squad and wish to disassociate ourselves from their conduct since it had raised several agitations from other winning members.“We are not against fulfilling promises to the members of the squad but the process must be well coordinated because there are other players.”

Powered by Firework The number four position of Team India’s batting order was a variable spot among a number of batsmen, with prolonged debates and discussions on which run machine should be made permanent for the position. However, its now a territory marked by none other than Shreyas Iyer- the youngster who has sealed his no. 4 spot of the team thanks to consequent spectacular performances. However, getting picked for the spot wasn’t an easy task for Iyer- as he reveals what particularly grabbed the attention of the team selectors.Advertisement Image Courtesy: The Hindu/AFPIn a latest episode of Spicy Pitch, a web talk show by Cricbuzz, Shreyas Iyer recalled how he didn’t earn his place in the Indian squad, despite performing great in the Ranji trophy.“When I scored 1300 runs in the 2nd (domestic) season, I wasn’t picked in India team, where I was expected to be picked. I could see other players being selected and going beyond me, even though their performance wasn’t as great as me,” the Mumbai cricket team star said in the show.Advertisement Falling behind his domestic teammates in the pecking order, the 25 year old took the advice of the selectors, who informed him that Iyer’s minus point was his aggressiveness. He continued: “I felt I should go and ask the selectors what’s wrong in me. So, I went and asked, they said, ‘you’re over aggressive player. At the highest level, if someone bowls a good bowl to you, you won’t be able to survive at that stage’.”Advertisement “So, I thought, ‘let’s play the way they want you to, and try and see how it helps. So, I realised, if I stay longer, if I take some time… after that I became more consistent’,” Iyer added. At the end, following the valuable words of the selectors, Iyer finally made his debut for the Men in Blues in 2017, in a T20 against New Zealand. However, it wasn’t as exciting as the player himself thought it would be.“To be honest, I wasn’t that emotional, when I got the India cap. I felt I should have gotten it way before,” he concluded.Iyer has made 18 ODI and 22 T20 appearances for Team India, and has been brilliant in the recent Australia and New Zealand series, which has made his spot in the team sealed for the coming years. Also read-How Rahul Dravid reacted when Shreyas Iyer hit a last over six in a four-day match!Jasprit Bumrah urges India to support to PM Modi’s 9pm – 9 minute candle light show of strength Advertisement
